Are teams fair?
We keep the existing snake system. The trophy does not change team selection.
Will trophies make games too competitive?
We already play to win every Saturday. Same friendly football, same rules.
Who approves the cost?
Admins agree on the annual budget first. The cost is under AUD $150 for the whole year, far below our weekly pitch fees. So chill. If you love it, you can be a sponsor for the year. Interested? Reach out to the admins.
Why eight medals?
The usual winning team has eight players. For a seven-a-side tournament, match medals to the winning team size.
What if the same players keep winning?
Winning streaks already happen. The snake system continues as usual.
What if teams tie on points?
Use head-to-head, then goal difference if necessary.
Who keeps the trophy and medals?
Medals are yours to keep. The winning team gets them every month. The trophy is only borrowed: winners may rotate it among themselves during the month, then it must come back for the next month's title match. The team replaces it if lost or damaged.
What if someone does not want to participate?
Players opt into the usual Monday 7 pm poll; no separate tournament registration.
What about fouls and disagreements?
Same friendly rules. Players call fouls as usual; admins can help settle disagreements.
What if tournament day is cancelled or numbers are low?
Postpone to the next suitable Saturday. A later month may have two tournament days.
What about belonging to a team?
Keep the snake system now. Consider more consistent teams later, with open discussion before any change.
What if weaker players are blamed?
Everyone has different strengths. Keep the friendly, supportive MCFC culture.
Why introduce a trophy at all?
Add fun and recognition while building a community tradition for future generations.
What if players focus too much on winning?
Wanting to win is normal football. Keep the same rules, friendships and snake system.
Will this become difficult to maintain?
Easy peasy, no extra task. It follows the existing Saturday template. Annual admins buy medals and manage the reusable trophy within budget.
